Extremely Comfortable
Zé Ramalho brings well chosen highlights from his repertoire on the live album (recorded during March 2005). He performs his classics with his characteristic enthusiasm. The band that accompanies him here is remarkably well balanced! Drummer Sandro Moreno keeps the rhythm steady in a very strict way. Zé Gomes passionately adds the accents, mainly on his zabumba, while second percussionist Marcos Amma enjoys colouring the rhythm. Bassist Chico Guedes keeps the groove steady and proves to be a trustable backing vocalist too. Dodó de Moraes is omni present on keyboards, but it’s on the accordion that he really shines. Toti Cavalcanti follows the melody line on the saxophone/flute. And, finally, master guitarist Rick Ferreira spices things up with his blues/rock guitar style. Zé Ramalho, in the mean time, feels extremely comfortable in this company, and so we have a wonderful album. An album that, of course, is also available on dvd.
