Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Celia Malheiros is a prolific composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and impressive singer. Her music covers a wide range of Brazilian music genres including samba, bossa nova, choro, baião, frevo and indigenous music just to name a few. She draws her musical inspiration from the rich Brazilian culture as well as her idol Hermeto Pascoal.
